Rooted in the Faith Once Delivered

Grace Lutheran is a member church of the Lutheran Church Missouri Synod. It was established as a parish church in 1912 to faithfully serve San Diego's Hillcrest neighborhood. Over the years, we have evolved into a commuter church, drawing people from all over San Diego County. They come to hear the unchanging Word of God undiluted by a changing culture.

We welcome families, singles, military and you. You'll find our family-friendly San Diego Lutheran church in a landmark building noted for its historic architecture and magnificent organ. It is a beautiful place to enter into the Lord's presence.

Traditional Christian Worship Service in Hillcrest

In addition to Divine Service every Sunday, San Diego Grace Lutheran holds special services throughout the year. These include Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, Ash Wednesday, Holy Thursday, Good Friday and Easter Vigil.

You are invited to join us for Evening Prayer each Wednesday during the seasons of Advent and Lent. These services are preceded by a Soup Supper in our Fellowship Hall.

We use the liturgies and hymns found in the Lutheran Service Book and are currently following the historic one-year lectionary.
